MWC Major Welding & Construction Ltd. is seeking a Drafter / Estimator to join our growing team.
This position is best suited for someone with strong drafting experience who is looking to further develop their skills within the welding, piping, and construction industries. The primary focus of this role will be drafting and drawing preparation, while also supporting estimating and project coordination functions alongside our estimating team.
We specialize in piping systems, structural welding, and complex fabrication scopes, and we are looking for someone who is organized, self-motivated, and interested in becoming a key part of our operations team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare and revise drawings using AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Assist with spool drawings, fabrication drawings, and project drafting requirements.
- Review drawings and specifications alongside the estimating team.
- Support the preparation of estimates from initial request through submission.
- Assist with the creation of Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Request and track vendor pricing.
- Help compile proposals and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate internally with operations, fabrication, and management teams to support project execution and handoff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong drafting experience using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Experience with spool drawings or fabrication drawings is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and fabrication drawings.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Good communication skills both internally and with clients.
- Interest in developing estimating and project coordination skills.
- Industry-related experience in welding, piping, mechanical, or construction environments is considered an asset.
